EA Sports FC 24 Coming to Nintendo Switch in September

Last week, EA gave Nintendo Switch fans a glimpse of its upcoming game, EA Sports FC 24, set to release this September. According to EA’s Vice President Executive Producer, John Shepherd, the game is “running great” on the aging hybrid hardware of the Switch.

Speaking to IGN, Shepherd emphasized that the Switch version will include “all the modes” found in the game, although there will be “a few differences” compared to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. Due to hardware limitations, the Switch version will be more representative of gameplay on the older consoles rather than the next-generation systems.

The only notable feature missing from the Switch version is cross-play. Despite this, Shepherd dubbed the Nintendo version a “huge achievement,” expressing how it took several years for EA and its teams to optimize the game for the Switch. Nintendo themselves have also reviewed the game, with Shepherd noting that “everyone’s really excited about it.”

EA Sports FC 24, running on EA’s Frostbite Engine, will feature Volta Football, Ultimate Team, player and manager career modes, and even Joy-Con multiplayer support. It is set to launch simultaneously with other versions of the game on September 29, 2023.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of EA Sports FC 24 on the Nintendo Switch. Are you planning to check it out? Let us know in the comments below.
