TECNO has unveiled a new and distinctive technology for the smartphone camera, which it called the “Eagle Eye Lens” feature.
The company made the announcement during a premium smartphone event organized by Counterpoint Research. The new technology is the first binocular telephoto camera that automatically tracks objects.
TECNO says it has a solution: a mechanism with two perspectives instead of one. This is the first system of its kind, as each perspective can operate one of its own axes; And one can do +/- 8° and the other can do +/- 10°.
Tecno says that when the two perspectives are used together, the camera can automatically track an object by up to +/- 16 degrees on one axis and +/- 20 degrees on the other.
The technology is being dubbed an “eagle eye lens” by the company. Of course, the system also takes care of the optical stabilization, which corrects movements in the range of +/- 6 °. And AI takes care of both OIS and object tracking. The system works with both photos and videos, and the quality of the photos produced is better than if they were made manually.
The company says this will come in handy at events such as motorsports, where you can take a clear photo or smooth video of fast cars going fast.
