The National Election Commission announced that as of 9 a.m. on the 6th, the second day of advance voting for the 22nd National Assembly election, the cumulative voter turnout was 17.78%.
In the early voting held from 6 a.m. on this day, 7,875,045 out of 44,280,011 voters completed voting.
This is 3.74 percentage points (p) higher than the voter turnout rate (14.04%) during the early voting period for the 21st general election in 2020, and is the highest at the same time based on general elections in which advance voting was applied. It is 2.39% points lower than the voter turnout rate in the 20th presidential election two years ago (20.17%).
The cumulative voter turnout by region was 18.02% (1,497,557 people) in Seoul, 16.70% (481,740 people) in Busan, 13.91% (285,456 people) in Daegu, and 16.71% (431,645 people) in Incheon. Gwangju is 22.40% (268,788 people), Daejeon 16.76% (207,262 people), Ulsan 16.83% (157,336 people), and Sejong 19.39% (58,424 people).
Gyeonggi 16.24% (1,883,390 people), Gangwon 19.81% (263,919 people), Chungbuk 17.90% (245,684 people), Chungnam 17.86% (326,092 people), Jeonbuk 23.94% (363,405 people) , Jeonnam was 26.51% (414,947 people), Gyeongbuk was 18.34% (407,928 people), Gyeongnam was 17.47% (485,615 people), and Jeju was 16.92% (95,857 people).
Early voting takes place until 6 p.m. at 3,565 locations nationwide. When you go to vote, you must bring an identification card, such as your resident registration card, passport, or driver’s license, issued by a government office or public institution and accompanied by your date of birth and a photo to verify your identity.
