It is called TOI-700 D d and is the first exoplanet discovered by NASA’s Tess space telescope. The announcement was made during the 235th meeting of the American Astronomical Society in Honolulu. The planet is located 100 light-years from Earth, in the southern constellation of Dorado. It is in the “habitable zone”, it would be rocky and there could be water. The star is about 40% of the mass and size of our Sun and approximately half its surface temperature. It is 20% larger than Earth and completes an orbit in 37 days. In the planetary system detected by the telescope there are also TOI.700 B and TOI-700 C, which would be outside the habitable zone.
