jpnn.comJAKARTA – A 5.8 magnitude earthquake rocked Gunung Kidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Monday at 19.57 WIB.

In the early warning exposed through the infoBMKG application system, it was reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at sea at a depth of 30 kilometers with coordinates 8.78 LS, 110.27 BT or 95 kilometers from the southwest of Gunung Kidul.

“In addition to Gunung Kidul, earthquake vibrations were also felt in the Karangkates, Nganjuk, Sleman, and Malang areas with a scale of II-IV MMI,” wrote BMKG.

Based on BMKG’s temporary seismological analysis, the earthquake was confirmed to have no tsunami potential.

However, the public is advised to be vigilant while remaining calm and not being influenced by issues whose truth cannot be verified until the results of a comprehensive analysis of the incident are reported by BMKG.
