“We are launching an urgent appeal to all citizens, particularly those in the city of Marrakech, to donate their blood to help the injured,” an official from the Center told MAP.
The wounded, who will be evacuated to the various hospitals and health facilities in the city, will certainly need significant quantities of blood, added this official, specifying that the Center is not skimping on logistical and human resources, in order to bring together the conditions for the success of this noble operation of solidarity and mutual aid, while calling on the generosity of Moroccans and their high sense of responsibility in such circumstances.
A large-scale mobilization is also observed at several health establishments in Marrakech, such as the Mohammed VI Hospital Center, in order to provide the necessary care to the injured.
The earthquake left 296 dead and 153 injured in the provinces and prefectures of Al Haouz, Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua and Taroudant, according to a provisional report provided early Saturday by the Ministry of the Interior. (MAP).
