jpnn.com – MALANG – The East Java Province General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) will hold a digital patrol to anticipate the spread of hoaxes during the 2024 Pilkada.

Patrols are carried out in the context of supervision in the digital media realm, especially during the campaign period.

According to the Head of the East Java Bawaslu Province, A. Warits, digital patrols to prevent hoaxes are carried out through the Cyber Working Group (Pokja).

“Bawaslu has formed a cyber monitoring working group, which has been formed at all levels. So, we monitor all negative content or hoaxes and hate speech,” said Warits in Malang, Friday (6/9).

Warits ensures that every finding or information received will be followed up optimally.

Whether the content contains hoaxes or hate speech, action will be taken by looking at any authentic evidence related to the violation.

“We also did it, then it was stated in the Model A Report Form,” he said.

Considering that the campaign period has not yet started and the prospective pairs have not yet been determined by the General Elections Commission (KPU), Bawaslu is currently only giving an appeal so that all parties do not commit violations.
