Easter, ‘the weekend that changed the world’, say scientists

by time news

Christians all over the world are currently celebrating Easter week, which culminates in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For the Brazilian Association of Christians in Science (ABC), this means an event that changed the history of the world.

On ABC’s official website, a documentary is advertised that details the reasons why Christian Easter is, in fact, a celebration that marks not only Christians, but the entire Western world.

“Speak Life Ministries released a 15-minute mini-documentary on ‘the weekend that changed the world’ – the Christian Passover. In it, host Glen Scrivener travels from London to Rome to try to understand how a death by torture in an unimportant part of the Roman empire became the most defining event in Western history.

indisputable fact

The publication of the Association of Christians in Science is not the result of an opinion versed only in belief. It is, first of all, based on historical data recognized by world-renowned figures in academia, such as the celebrated author Tom Holland.

According to ABC, Christian Easter changed human history so abruptly “to the point that historian Tom Holland describes Christianity, which began with the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth, as ‘the most disruptive, the most influential and the most lasting revolution of history.’

Hollanda’s quote is not by chance. The historian is the author of “Rubicon: The Triumph and Tragedy of the Roman Republic,” which won the Hessell-Tiltman Prize for History and was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize.

It is, therefore, another historical-scientific recognition of the importance of Christian Easter for the world, something that in a spiritual sense means the salvation of humanity through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Watch, below, the documentary (in English) recommended by ABC:
