British airline EasyJet expects its profit for the full financial year to beat analysts’ estimates. It was buoyed by summer bookings and strong Easter demand despite strikes in France.

Overall, airlines in Europe are reporting strong summer bookings despite high inflation and an uncertain macroeconomic outlook.

“We are seeing continued strong booking momentum for the summer as customers prioritize travel spending and choose airlines such as EasyJet that offer the best combination of price and destinations,” said CEO Johan Lundgren.

Economists predict a full-year profit of around 260 million pounds (294 million euros) for the British low-cost airline EasyJet.

In the first three months of 2023, the airline’s passenger capacity increased by 40 percent, operating 99.8 percent of Easter flights despite strikes by air traffic control staff in France.
