TRENTO. A new case of intestinal infection of food origin in a 9-year-old child.
The epidemiological investigation conducted to recognize the source of infection – underlines a note – highlighted a probable correlation with the consumption of a cheese produced from raw milk (unpasteurized).
The batch of cheese concerned (Stinky) was promptly withdrawn from the market. Anyone who has recently purchased this type of cheese is advised not to give it to children, pregnant women and people with depressed immune systems.
The raw milk used to produce these cheeses – recalls Apss – has not undergone heat treatments such as boiling or pasteurization which allow us to control any pathogenic germs that can be found in the milk after milking and which can pose a health risk for the children under 10 years of age, for pregnant women and for people with depressed immune systems.
