Its new general secretary EBEA the industrialist Euripides Dontas was elected, in place of the late Babis Moraitis.

In the vote that took place in the Board of Trade and Industry Chamber of Athens, Euripides Dontas prevailed with 28 votes against 23 for Antonis Panagopoulos.

The candidacy of Euripides Dontas was supported by Nikos Sofianos, first member of the Board of Directors and candidate for EBEA president.

Chamber sources said that the election of Mr. Dontas vindicates the policy of Nikos Sofianos, who advocates only the “ideology of entrepreneurship” and does not want the involvement of any party in EBEA.

Antonis Panagopoulos was a personal choice of the former president of EBEA and former deputy minister Yannis Bratakos, who was dismissed at the end of March by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Next December, elections will be held to elect the new EBEA Board of Directors.
