The former Morenoist candidate, Marcelo Ebrardattended this Sunday the second government report of the mayor of Acapulco, Abelina López, and not the National Council of Morena.

This Sunday afternoon the National Council began, attended by “corcholatas” such as Manuel Velasco, Ricardo Monreal, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, but Adán Augusto López and Marcelo Ebrard did not attend.

At the event, the certificate was delivered to Claudia Sheinbaum as the coordinator of the Defense Committees of the Fourth Transformation.

For his part, Ebrard received the report from the mayor of Acapulco and told the press that until this Monday he will report whether he will remain in Morena: “Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow,” he insisted.

In addition, the former chancellor did not give details about the place where a meeting would be held, which he anticipated would be attended by “colleagues.”

“We’ll tell you tomorrow (…) I’m not going to talk right now,” he told the press and began taking photos with his followers.

Ebrard also did not attend last Thursday the event called by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to hand over the baton of command to Claudia Sheinbaum.

The event took place in a restaurant in the Historic Center of Mexico City, and the national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, also attended.

Ebrard has expressed his disagreement with Morena’s internal process to define the presidential candidacy.

Although Ebrard ruled out running as an independent candidate, it is still not clear if the 63-year-old politician will break with López Obrador’s party to run for another organization for the 2024 presidential elections, or if he will accept the president’s calls and other leaders to stay in Morena.
