In this connection, it is mentioned in the letter of the Chief Secretary: `The Revenue Department manages various matters relating to the public interest. The most important of these are the change of belt, the division of land, the issuance of various types of certificates, and the provision of social security pensions. But there are delays and shortcomings in the provision of these services in many places.

The Chief Minister conducted an inspection at a taluka office in Chennai and found various deficiencies. Therefore, the monitoring officers appointed for this purpose should go to the taluka offices allotted to them and inspect certain services in detail and point out the shortcomings.
