The Ecobank city, located in the Keitaya district in the urban commune of Dubréka, was inaugurated this Saturday, February 10, 2024. This inaugural ceremony was marked by the handing over of keys to beneficiary families in the presence of local authorities and officials of the pan-African bank Ecobank Guinea. This city of 66 modern housing units, financed by the company Ecobank Guinée, is built on an area of 23 thousand square meters.

With the Ecobank cooperative as project owner, the construction of these 66 housing units intended for workers is part of a vocation already registered by the managers of this bank: that of providing each worker with a house. Hence the slogan “one ecobanker, one roof”. This city has all the amenities because it is made up of 22 F3 type villas, 29 F4 type villas, 15 F5 type duplexes, roads, water networks, electricity, sanitation, secondary roads, sidewalks and public lighting as well as green spaces.

To this end, the representative of the General Director of Ecobank Guinea, Mrs. Corine Kourouma, explains that this program “was a reflection, an ambition, a wish, a dream for the General Director of Ecobank Guinea and which translated a project real estate this jewel in favor of employees of Ecobank Guinea. This initiative is also part of our policy of attractiveness, loyalty, employee retention and strengthening our employer brand. This event is of particular importance marking the culmination of a remarkable project allowing each beneficiary employee to live with dignity at home and enjoy this immense happiness with their family.”

Continuing, she recalls that “the construction of this city demonstrates our constant desire to offer our employees a living environment based on the values of fulfillment and material support. » With the slogan “one ecobanker, one roof”, “We hope and wish to continue this project for other Ecobankers. »

The company’s workers’ union, in addition to rejoicing at the housing made available to them, pleaded for the workers’ cause by affirming the following: “the construction of a global fence of the city in order to better secure the places as well as our families,” emphasizes Mamadou Saliou Camara.

Mariama Yèbhè Barry, beneficiary, declares: “I am very happy, honored today I have the key to my house and it is immense satisfaction. This is an opportunity for me to thank the entire general management of Ecobank Guinea for this gesture towards us as employees. »

This construction work on these 66 housing units was carried out by purely local labor. This is why, Maître Jean Alfred Mathos, notary advisor to the promoter which is the company Aguipro SA which carried out this work, welcomes this initiative: “All the trades who worked on this site are Guineans. This is an initiative that must be welcomed because the State, which holds the most land, can put mechanisms in place so that every Guinean can have housing. » The local authorities, including the district head of Keitaya, Madame Fatoumata Keita, and the municipal councilor at Dubréka town hall, Aboubacar Kanfory Sylla, all appreciated the quality of the work in their locality. “It is a good initiative to build cities to allow all Guineans to be decently housed. We are really happy that this city is being built in my neighborhood,” rejoices Mrs. Fatoumata Keita.

Finally, local authorities, Ecobank managers and other guests took a guided tour of the accommodation to more closely appreciate the quality of the infrastructure. A family photo and a cocktail were offered to immortalize this moment in an atmosphere of joy and satisfaction.
