The Cibao Savings and Loan Association (ACAP) and the Association for Incorporated Development (Apedi) have joined together in a project that seeks the Ecological restoration in the northern mountain rangeespecially in the Yaque river basin and Jacagua.

The plan includes the protection of water catchment areas, increasing forest cover and environmental education.

The restoration of ecosystem services on the southern margin of the Northern mountain rangewhich belongs to the Yaque river basin of the North, specifically in the upper part of the Jacagua River.

The agreement, signed by José Luis Ventura, executive president of ACAPand Juan Alfonso Mera Montero, president of Apediis valid for one year.

The total budget is RD$4.5 million, with ACAP contributing RD$3.5 million and Apedi RD$1 million.

“This project represents a significant milestone in the preservation of biodiversity and the sustainable management of water resources in the region,” said Ventura.

For his part, Juan Alfonso Mera said: “It is an honor to formalize this alliance with ACAP for the development of a very important initiative, in addition to sealing the collaborations that we have worked on for a long time, through volunteering and planting days.

In addition, it is planned to plant 50,000 trees and build an educational viewpoint, with the aim of promoting sustainability and environmental preservation in the region.
