Ecopetrol has implemented measures to ensure the supply of diesel throughout the country, despite the recent attacks on the Caño Limón Coveñas and Bicentenario pipelines, which affected production capacity at the Barrancabermeja refinery.
“Because the recent attacks on the Caño Limón Coveñas and Bicentenario pipelines have impacted the production capacity of this fuel at the Barrancabermeja refinery,” the company said in a statement.
The company stated that it has managed to maintain a delivery greater than 100% of what was scheduled and has solid inventory levels.

Furthermore, due to the lower availability of biodiesel this month, which increases the demand for diesel, Ecopetrol has managed the import of 1,640,000 barrels of this fuel, which will arrive soon through the ports of Pozos Colorados in Santa Marta and Buenaventura. These actions seek to prevent any eventuality and ensure compliance with delivery commitments to wholesalers.
“To date, Ecopetrol has delivered diesel volumes above the established program, exceeding 100%, and has good inventory levels. However, as a preventive measure, the Company has made the decision to look for additional alternatives to support these inventories, to meet expectations,” the oil company indicated.
