Ecuador announced an immigration amnesty and the start of a new regularization process for all Venezuelan immigrants who are in the country and do not yet have a special visa or whose certificate of immigration residence has expired.
The decree signed by President Daniel Noboa will allow for “granting immigration amnesty and establishing an extraordinary regularization process for Venezuelan nationals in a situation of human mobility and their family group.”
The Venezuelan beneficiaries must have completed the Migratory Residence Registration process that was activated in June 2022, have an expired certificate or not have obtained the Temporary Residence Visa of Exception (Virte II), issued in a previous process of legalization of migrants.
To this end, the Ministry of the Interior will renew all certificates and residence permits so that they can access a new visa.
