Manuel Bravo, president of the Ecuadorian Athletics Federation (FEA), shared with EFE that these talented athletes will be in charge of seeking the minimum mark of 1 hour, 29 minutes and 20 seconds to ensure their classification for the Olympic Games. In addition, he highlighted the return of Paola Pérez, 35 years old, who after completing the maternity process, will participate in the championship in Loja. Paola PÃ © rez has an extensive Olympic career, debuting at the London 2012 Games and repeating her participation in Tokyo 2020. Now, she will seek her third Olympic classification, demonstrating not only her athletic prowess but also his resilience and dedication to sport.

The president of the FEA noted that the objective of the Ecuadorian team is to complete the women’s team for Paris 2024, since Glenda Morejón has already secured her classification. The competition in Loja is presented as the perfect opportunity to achieve this purpose and honor the memory of the late Luis Chocho, an icon of local marching.

As for the men’s walking team, made up of David Hurtado, Daniel Pintado and Jordy Jiménez, Bravo indicated that they will have to maintain their marks in the 20 kilometer walk, since there are still opportunities for other athletes. Ecuador seeks to consolidate itself as a power in the discipline of walking and ensure outstanding representation at the Paris Olympic Games.
