“Edappadi Palanisamy’s rapid response to OPS appeal with caveat petition – no need to ask me”

by time news

The Madras High Court recently dismissed the petitions filed by O. Panneerselvam’s side against the election of the AIADMK general committee and general secretary, and ruled that all resolutions passed in the General Assembly and General Assembly shall go. Consequently, it was confirmed that Panneerselvam would be removed from the party, and Edappadi Palaniswami would be selected as the interim general secretary of the AIADMK. An appeal petition was subsequently filed by the OPS team to ban Edappadi Palaniswami from acting as AIADMK General Secretary. The appeal case is set to be heard on March 29, and a caveat petition has been filed on behalf of EPS to ensure his side’s perspective is heard.

Action judgment

O. Panneerselvam’s side had filed various cases in the Madras High Court demanding a ban on the general secretary election of AIADMK and against the resolutions of the General Assembly. Arguments on both sides in these cases ended on the 22nd and the judgment was adjourned without specifying a date. Also, publication of the general secretary election result was prohibited till the verdict. In this case, yesterday (March 28) Judge Kumareshbabu gave judgment in this case. The petitions filed by OPS against the election of AIADMK general committee and general secretary were dismissed. It was also resolved that all resolutions passed in the General Assembly and the General Assembly shall go.

Appeal immediately

With this, it was confirmed that O. Panneerselvam would be removed from the party and Edappadi Palaniswami would be selected as the interim general secretary of the AIADMK. Edappadi Palaniswami was announced as the general secretary of AIADMK following the ICourt verdict. As soon as the verdict came, EPS went to the AIADMK head office and took charge as the general secretary. Following this, an appeal petition was filed in the Madras High Court by the OPS team to ban Edappadi Palaniswami from acting as AIADMK General Secretary.

Hearing today

The order of the Single Judge of the Madras High Court is contradictory. The single judge’s order was against party rules. The appeal filed by the OPS has requested that the order of the single judge should be stayed and Edappadi Palaniswami should be banned from acting as AIADMK general secretary. The appeal case is scheduled to be heard today (March 29) in a bench comprising Justices Mahadevan and Mohammad Shafiq. This case is listed as the 39th case.

Filing of Caveat Petition

In this case, a caveat petition has been filed in the Madras High Court on behalf of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami, during the hearing of the appeal filed by O. Panneerselvam’s party, that no order should be issued without hearing his side’s explanation. Advocates Gauthamkumar and Balamurugan have filed a caveat petition on behalf of EPS.
