CHENNAI: Interim General Secretary of AIADMK and former Chief Revenue Officer Edappadi Palaniswami, who made a surprise visit to New Delhi, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and filed a series of complaints against the Tamil Nadu government.

Since last June, AIADMK has been in internal conflict due to the issue of single leadership. Tamil Nadu BJP did not interfere much in this. However, the Delhi high command is keeping a close eye on the contest in the AIADMK.

In this situation, Edappadi Palani Samy left for Delhi on Monday night. CV with him. Shanmugam and S.P. Velumani also went.

Edappadi Palaniswami met Union Minister Amit Shah yesterday morning at 11.30 am. For about 20 minutes they talked about various issues.

Later, Edappadi Palaniswami gave an interview to the media.

“Me too Velumani, C.V. Shanmugam also met him out of respect.

“தமிழகம் முழுவதும் தடையின்றி போதைப்பொருள் கிடைக்கிறது. இதனால் மாணவர்கள், இளையர்கள் சீரழியக்கூடிய சூழ்நிலை உருவாகியுள்ளது.

“I have already brought this to the attention of the Chief Minister several times in the Assembly. We gave reports. But no action was taken.

“So we have brought it to the notice of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. It is the duty of the state government to maintain law and order. No matter where drug is being sold or coming to Tamil Nadu from a neighboring state, it should be stopped and legal action should be taken against those involved in the sale and trafficking of drugs. But because the Tamil Nadu government is lax and indifferent, the sale of ganja is rampant throughout Tamil Nadu.

“Economic situation is sluggish with no employment for 2 years due to Corona. At this time of struggle for survival, the electricity tariff has been hiked,” he enraged.

Eduppadi Palaniswami said that when he was the Chief Minister, Godavari-Caveri link project was requested to the Prime Minister during Amma’s government and another project called ‘Nadantai Vazhi Cauvery’ was requested to be implemented in Tamil Nadu, and he said that he requested Amit Shah to implement these.
