Edison Next, an energy services company and subsidiary of the EDISON energy group and the French giant EDF, has been the company chosen by 13 Spanish municipalities to be in charge of the installation and commissioning of a sustainable Christmas lighting system.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to maintaining a tradition that, without a doubt, provides a unique charm to our streets and homes during these festivities, but which for years has involved great consumption that has challenged energy efficiency.

Therefore, to maintain this tradition, but making more responsible use of energy resources, the 13 municipalities have decided to trust the energy solutions of the company Edison Next.

The company has already installed a total of 8,205 motifs distributed throughout the different municipalities, in addition to 3 trees 12 m high and 6 large light figures. The implementation of cutting-edge technology, such as LED lighting, has been essential to guarantee maximum efficiency and reduced energy consumption in this Christmas lighting. The deployment of these projects has required a total investment that exceeds 2,084,000 euros, showing Edison Next’s financial commitment to this sustainable initiative.

A clear example of this commitment is materialized in the ambitious installation of 5,300 efficient Christmas motifs in the city of Palma de Mallorca. This great project, whose inauguration took place a few days ago, has an investment of more than 1.5 million euros and promises to be much more than a simple decoration; It will be a gift and spectacle of light and color for the senses of residents and visitors, which also contributes significantly to the economic and energy savings of the city.

The city of Terrassa has joined this sustainable vision of the holidays by installing 900 Christmas motifs. In turn, the commitment to sustainability has extended to the Catalan municipality of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, where Edison Next has been entrusted with the task of installing 356 motifs, in addition to 2 imposing Christmas trees of more than 12 meters and a large light figure.

This shared vision for energy efficiency not only adds a festive charm to these municipalities, but sets a new standard for more responsible Christmas celebrations. This initiative, in addition to that of La Palma, Terrassa and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, has aroused the interest of 10 other municipalities that have enthusiastically joined this movement for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly Christmas.

Edison Next, for its part, is proud to have led this joint effort that has achieved a more respectful use of the energy resources we have. Furthermore, initiatives like this one endorse and demonstrate the commitment of public entities to sustainability.
