In the ruling, Eduardo Macaya was found guilty of two crimes of sexual abuse against minors.
In a hearing held on Wednesday morning at the San Fernando Criminal Court, Eduardo Macaya Zentilli, father of the UDI president, Javier Macaya, was found guilty.
In the conviction, Macaya was found guilty of two crimes of sexual abuse against minors. He was also acquitted of two other cases of the same nature.
The Prosecutor’s Office requested 12 years in prison for the crimes against minors for which Macaya was tried.
The hearing in the O’Higgins Region court was held behind closed doors, given the victims’ backgrounds that would be made public, so the arguments that the judges will deliver and the details of the two cases for which Eduardo Macaya was convicted are awaited.
The sentence against Eduardo Macaya will be announced on July 19, after being found guilty of two cases of sexual abuse against minors.
To date, he was under house arrest, a measure that was decreed after paying a bail of $150 million, after a month in preventive detention.
