The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports has granted 3,549,780 euros for the creation of 146 new digital training centers in local entities, of which twelve will be located in Castilla y León with an investment of nearly 300,000 euros, according to informed the Department directed by Pilar Alegría.
With this aid, from component 19 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the State Network of Digital Training Centers will be expanded to 1,193 units. The Ministry anticipates that it can benefit more than 55,500 people over 55 years of age and with a low level of training throughout Spain.
In Castilla y León, twelve proposals have been admitted and will receive 24,500 euros each.which adds up to a total of 294,000 euros.
These are projects of the town councils of The Ship of Ávila, Peñaranda de Bracamonte, Candelario, El Cabaco (Salamanca); Duero Lagoon, Peñafiel (Valladolid); San Cristóbal de Segovia; Benavente (Zamora); Ponferrada, and Sahagún (León); and the councils of Burgos and Valladolid.
The initiative aims to train citizens in transversal digital skills, offering training opportunities regardless of place of residence.
All this so that you can carry out secure communications and transactions online, using your own electronic devices, and to promote digital literacy as an instrument of new training and learning opportunities.
These aid will go to the town councils so that they can make available to students a physical space in which the sessions are taught and guarantee the improvement of qualification and permanent requalification, in addition to mentors and trainers.
The Ministry plans to publish a new call soon for 8.9 million euros to continue promoting this network.
This line of aid destined directly to local entities is added to the 58.7 million euros already distributed by the Ministry to the autonomous communities for the implementation of the first 1,047 classrooms.
