jpnn.comJAKARTA – The DPR RI Budget Agency (Banggar) has decided that the calculation scheme for 20 percent of the Education Fund will still refer to state spending.

This decision closes the potential for a reduction in the amount of education funds allocated from the APBN.

“We received information from the DPR Budget Agency that the calculation scheme for 20 percent of the Education Fund from the APBN still refers to state spending. We certainly appreciate this decision because it closes the potential for a decrease in the education budget of more than IDR 100 trillion,” said Chairman of Commission X of the DPR Syaiful Huda, Sunday (15/9/2024).

For your information, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani proposed to the DPR Budget Committee to change the calculation scheme for the 20 percent Education Fund from the APBN to refer to state revenue.

This change is to ensure that the amount of education funding does not burden the APBN too much.

On the other hand, the change will reduce the amount of 20 percent of the Education Fund from the APBN to IDR 130 trillion.

Huda said that the Banggar decision was in accordance with public aspirations so that there would be no manipulation of the 20 percent Education Fund from the APBN.

He hopes that with this decision, various basic education problems such as teacher welfare, access to higher education, and improvements to educational facilities and infrastructure in the 3T areas can be resolved immediately.

Chairman of Commission X Syaiful Huda responded to information from the DPR Budget Committee that the calculation scheme for 20 percent of the Education Fund from the APBN still refers to state spending.
