The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in the Government of National Unity for Supervision Affairs, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kabir, circulated the work regulations for the departments of media, communication with the Superintendents, and the management of pages on social media.
The statement said: “Out of the Ministry of Education’s keenness and concern for the media discourse and its quality, which reflects interest in the quality of the educational system in general and a belief in the importance of this aspect in spreading educational awareness and securing sources of data and information in accordance with the laws and regulations related to privacy and protecting personal data.”
According to the statement: “In order to strengthen trust and highlight the credibility between these pages and follow them in a way that serves the public interest, and in accordance with the decision of the Director General of the National Authority for Information Security and Safety No. 37 of 2024 AD regarding the adoption of controls for the use of government agencies’ accounts on social media platforms, and based on the instructions of His Excellency the Minister of Education.” Education, during his presidency of the expanded meeting of the heads of the media and communication departments of the Education Supervision Department, held at the Ministry’s office on Monday, 12/23/2024 AD, and accordingly requests You must adhere to the following controls:
Assigning national personnel with experience and professional competence in the field of information technology, news editing and linguistic proofreading to work in the Media and Communication Department to monitor and provide them with the necessary support to conduct the work as required.
Each monitoring shall have one page on each platform and Facebook, Twitter(x)/Instagram, social media shall be closed and all pages created by offices, units and other administrative departments affiliated with the monitoring shall be deleted.
The media and communication departments are committed to publishing the media materials of the departments and administrative units on the official monitoring page after reviewing and improving them in accordance with the aforementioned publishing standards.
Media coordinators in public and private educational institutions will be assigned and placed in their cadres in coordination with the Media and Communication Department to monitor and technically supervise their work and organize training courses for them in the field of media work.
Each public or private educational institution shall have one page on the previously mentioned social media platforms, and its management shall be limited to the institution’s media coordinator, who is staffed by its staff and under his responsibility.
The official pages of all educational institutions will be created and documented under the supervision of the Media and Communication Department of the Monitoring Department to ensure the security and integrity of their information and assets against cyber threats.
Taking into account the privacy and confidentiality of employees’ personal data when publishing announcements and news on the official page.
