KUWAIT CITY: Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Assabah said that Kuwait is focused on expanding educational activities and bringing about changes both within the country and around the world. He was speaking as Amir’s representative at the UN Education Transformation Summit in New York. He commended the efforts of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for his focus on ensuring comprehensive, equitable and quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The prime minister said that investment in education and scientific research is paramount in the era of digital transformation across the world, and all this can be achieved through global partnerships. Kuwait continues its journey towards the development vision of ‘New Kuwait by 2035’. Various activities are being done to develop the skills of the youth. He also said that priority has been given to work based on new educational methods with the support of the government, the private sector and the public. The Prime Minister added that 12 percent of the domestic expenditure will be earmarked for education development and investments in human and financial resources will be made to ensure education for all. He also pointed out that the country has provided development assistance to 108 countries around the world through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
