At the conference, well-known experts, such as Sanita Osipova, Andris Strazds, Zane Udgiņa, Katrīna Ošleja, Anda Čakša, Sanda Liepiņa, will share their vision of current events in education, society and the labor market, etc. We will discuss what we expect from future professionals, education and the role of teachers. in order to increase the competitiveness of Latvian youth and promote the growth of the Latvian economy.

At the same time, participants will have the opportunity to learn new methods and practical tools for improving the content of design and technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, and career education.

“There is enough stress and uncertainty in the education environment right now. With this event, we want to give Latvian teachers a dose of positivity, inspire fresh ideas, introduce the latest educational trends, as well as give practical tools and methods right before the new school year,” says Jānis Krievāns, head of the educational organization “Junior Achievement Latvia”.

The teaching force plays an essential role in preparing the new generation for life and work in the changing world, creating a strong, innovative and enterprising society of the future. “Schools and universities have one goal – to raise knowledgeable future generations who will continue our work and shape our country in the future. Therefore, one of the priorities of Riga Technical University (RTU) is involvement in the education of pedagogues, providing their knowledge and experience in supplementing the knowledge of teachers, especially pedagogues in STEM fields. At the same time, the field of pedagogy is also important in the work of RTU, because the RTU Liepāja Academy, which historically is one of the main teacher trainers in Latvia, has been included in our ecosystem. We continue to responsibly strengthen pedagogy programs and motivate young people to learn to become teachers, so that our children and young people receive an internationally competitive education,” says RTU Rector Tālis Juhna.

“The teacher is the key to education, that is why the Bank of Latvia meets with teachers every year before the beginning of the school year to talk about current affairs in the field of economics and finance. This year, for the convenience of teachers, we have joined forces with other cooperation partners to both inspire and support educators before the start of the school year. The beneficiaries will be not only teachers, but mainly students throughout Latvia,” Aija Brikše, head of the Financial Literacy Department of the Bank of Latvia.

The conference will take place for the second time and is the next step in developing the usual professional competence development courses for pedagogues, school counselors, and offering additional content that will also be binding for representatives of education authorities, school management, teachers of social and civic learning areas and technology learning areas.
