The recent‍ arrival​ of Venezuelan migrants‌ at Guantanamo Bay,Cuba,has sparked intense debate​ and​ raised serious questions about the future of U.S. immigration policy. ‍Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, in a series of tweets and statements, characterized these individuals as “perilous criminal aliens” and “known⁤ gang members” involved‌ in “heinous ⁤crimes,” including homicide,‍ armed robbery, and drug trafficking.

“Yesterday, ​a second flight of dangerous criminal ⁣aliens took‍ off for ‍Guantanamo Bay. ALL are known gang ⁤members ⁣from Venezuela. Some of⁤ their heinous crimes include: -Confessed homicide -Wanted in Venezuela for escaping from jail and for aggravated robbery with weapon/intent ​to⁢ kill, trafficking of ‌weapons, robbery, distribution of dangerous drugs, assault, and identity theft fraud,” Noem declared on X, formerly twitter.
