EESC opinion on strategic and critical minerals: main recommendations
Rabat – Here are the main recommendations of the opinion of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) on “strategic and critical minerals contributing to Morocco’s industrial sovereignty”, presented on Wednesday during a restitution workshop in Rabat:
– Improve the general framework and the institutional framework governing activities related to strategic and critical minerals and strengthen governance of the sector
– De-risk the mining sector for investors and improve its attractiveness
– Strengthen and promote the productivity of the sector around R&D, human capital and the organization of SMEs
– Secure supply chains and reduce vulnerability to external sources
– Promote national valorization of strategic and critical minerals for better positioning in value chains linked to the energy and digital transition and to the orientations of the NMD
– Promote the inclusive and sustainable nature of the mining sector.
