The EFE president also stressed that operations on the Alameda-Rancagua section were resumed this Friday.

Eric Martin, president of the State Railways Company (EFE), announced the resignation of two senior officials following the fatal accident in San Bernardo, where a train from the company and one from Fepasa collided.

Martin said the dismissed officials are the Operations Manager and the Deputy Traffic Control Manager, explaining that this is a response to a reorganization of the company’s operational areas.

“Our organization has a lot of very well-trained people, and when there are these kinds of situations, there are people who are capable of solving them and are very competent to deal with them,” said the president of EFE.

In response to this, he added that “we have kindly asked that some of the positions be moved and, with that, we will have full freedom to operate correctly, as we hope will be the case.”

Eric Martin said that “we are strengthening the organization, in the sense that the structure remains the same, what changes are the names a bit”:

“And this allows us to give more clarity and to relaunch with strength and vigor the work that has been done,” he said.

The EFE president also stressed that operations on the Alameda-Rancagua section were resumed this Friday.
