The Department of the Interior is launching this weekend – from Friday June 2 to Sunday June 4 – a special traffic device on the occasion of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in it Circuit of Montmeló. The Catalan Traffic Service (SCT) has planned special measures to facilitate the mobility of access and subsequent exit from the circuit on roads such as AP-7, C-35, C-17, BV-5003 y BP-5002.
On Sunday, when more than 100,000 spectators are expected, a additional lane on C-32 north as an alternative to the AP-7. From the SCT it is recommended, as far as possible, to access the circuit in public transportation. Beyond the traffic device, there will be special devices from Mossos, Firefighters and the General Directorate of Civil Protection for the development of the automobile test. The device, which will start on Friday and will last throughout the weekend, will be managed jointly from the Satellite Center for Traffic Management and Local Coordination located in the CECOR of the Circuit itself.
Access and exit of the circuit
The SCT will establish special circulation and traffic management measures to facilitate access and subsequent exit from the circuit in the best fluidity and road safety conditions possible. For this reason, different additional lanes y one way traffic both at the entrance to the venue and at the exit, with the aim of minimizing the road damage that will take place especially on Sunday.
For attendees who arrive in private vehiclethe management of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya de Montmeló has recalled that, although this year the capacity of the párkings, los tickets can only be purchased in advance and electronically and that, if possible, they will have to be exchanged for a sticker at the authorized points and at the entrances to the car parks.
To help make the start of the circuit more fluid and staggered on the Sunday after the race, the most critical moment of the weekend, the Open Tracka proposal so that fans can access the track once Sunday’s race is over and can enjoy the podium ceremony from the Circuit’s straight line and step on the asphalt on which the Formula 1 single-seaters have competed.
Rodalies and shuttle buses
Given the high attendance that is expected for the Circuit, it is recommended that drivers who drive on the AP-7 avoid doing so during peak hours and take advantage of off-peak hours (either while the Grand Prix is being held or after the completion of the of this, once the thickness of vehicles has been emptied).
