(24 News) The egg donated by a poor widow for the construction of a mosque in India was sold for 7.5 lakh rupees.

According to the details, a mosque has been under construction for several months in ‘Mal Mapanpura’ village of Sopur, the northern town of Srinagar, Occupied Kashmir. Naseer Ahmad, a member of the mosque committee, said, “We were collecting donations when a woman from a small house came to me with her head bowed and gave me an egg.” He said, ‘Accept this from me.’

Naseer says that this woman is a very poor widow and lives in a small dilapidated house with her only son. Other things were given to sell, but I was worried about what to do with this egg. Naseer adds that ‘It was a modest egg of 6 rupees, but the spirit with which that poor woman gave it in the path of God made it very valuable.’

So I suggested to the other members of the committee that the egg should be auctioned and the egg be taken back after 3 days of sale. And he bid ten rupees for it from his own pocket. According to Naseer, the first bid was for ten thousand rupees and thus the price of eggs increased. Mappinpura did not have a large Jama Masjid, so the construction of the Jama Masjid was started, but the work was stopped when it reached the roof because of lack of funds.

He says, ‘We didn’t know that we would get Rs 200,000 from just one egg. The administration of the mosque had decided that the egg would be auctioned only for three days.’ , 20, 30 and 50 thousand had been bid, and each time the egg was returned, then it was announced that on the last day at seven o’clock in the evening the bidding would be closed and the egg would be given to the last bidder. I was also a young businessman of Sopore, Danish Hameed. When the bid of 54 thousand was announced twice, Danish sitting in the back row loudly said ’70 thousand’. Collected cash donations of three hundred and fifty rupees, it should be noted that compared to one Indian rupee, about 3.3 Pakistani rupees are made, thus this price is 7 lakh 46 rupees in Pakistani rupees.

Danish told a foreign news agency, ‘Though we were not told who this egg belonged to, but everyone knew that some poor widow had expressed her feelings by giving this egg and that widow actively donated to the well-off people. He said, “When I bought the egg for seventy thousand, that was my thought at that time.”

Now where is the egg? Naseer says that the egg is no longer trivial but has symbolic importance, he explains that ‘I am managing to preserve this egg and make a good frame for it. I will keep it safe’ Naseer wishes that ‘this egg will be a reminder to him, his family and everyone who sees how a widow gave it in the way of God without thinking about the cost. Yes, he says that ‘I understand, pure and good feelings have no price, that’s why this egg will always be safe in our house.’
