Two private hospitals in Erode have been brought under police surveillance after three people, including a mother and foster father, were arrested for sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl in Erode and selling her eggs for money.

A 16-year-old girl from Erode was allegedly sexually abused and her eggs were sold at a private hospital in Erode last month, according to the district police. Following the order of the Erode South police to conduct an investigation, the police led by Inspector Vijaya was conducting an investigation.

Police on Thursday arrested three people under the Pokso Act, including the victim’s mother and foster father, a woman named Malathi, who acted as a broker, in connection with the case.

What the police said about this:

The victim’s mother has been living with a man who left her husband and worked as a painter in Erode. The girl’s mother has been routinely donating eggs to a private hospital in Erode for the past several years.

In this case, the foster father sexually abused the girl when her daughter was 12 years old and was preparing to get involved in the egg business. He took the girl to the hospital after she developed an ovum and paid Rs. 20,000 each time she gave the ovum.

The mediator is a woman named Malathi (36). He made a fake card to hide the real age of the girl and changed the name of the girl to 20 and gave her to the hospital. Malathi has received Rs. 5,000 as commission.

So far the girl has received 8 eggs. Both the mother and the foster father have been threatening to kill her if she tells them to give her eggs outside.

The girl, who left home on the 20th of last month, was brought to the attention of the police after she told her aunt and uncle about the incident. Following this, we have registered a case and arrested the mother, foster father and Taraka under various sections including Pokso.

Two private hospitals involved in the incident have been brought under police surveillance. Not only that, the health department is said to have decided to conduct a study on whether such illegal ovulation activities are taking place in maternity hospitals across the state.
