Egypt affirms its support for the stability and safety of Sudan and its people

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Dr. Badr Abdel Aati affirmed Egypt’s continued support for the stability and safety of the State of Sudan and its brotherly people, stressing that Egypt will spare no effort to help the Sudanese brothers overcome the political, security and humanitarian challenges resulting from the ongoing war.

This came during Minister Abdel-Ati’s reception today, Tuesday, of Sudanese Foreign Minister Hussein Awad, in a bilateral meeting followed by an expanded discussion session with the participation of the delegations of the two countries. The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated – in press statements following the meeting – that Dr. Badr Abdel-Ati reviewed the goal of the Egyptian initiative to call for a conference for Sudanese political and civil forces, which was held in Cairo on July 6 and 7, as a platform that brings together all Sudanese civil political forces.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that Dr. Abdel Aati reviewed the situation regarding the implementation of Egyptian development projects in Sudan, such as the electrical connection project, and the reconstruction and development of Wadi Halfa Port, pointing out Egypt’s commitment to continue implementing these projects, in addition to its fraternal and humanitarian commitment to respond to any humanitarian and relief needs of brotherly Sudan.
