The Egyptian Minister welcomed the opportunity to share the nation’s experience while promoting a mutual exchange of expertise, and he commended the progress that Uganda has already achieved in its own digital transformation journey. He voiced hope that the dialogue between the two ministries would result in an implementation roadmap to guide the agreed areas of cooperation ahead of finalizing the proposed memorandum of understanding. The Ugandan delegation expressed a strong interest in learning how Egypt handles public-private partnerships, digital service delivery, and the integration of secure digital infrastructure to support communities.

Ugandan Officials Tour Cairo Technology Sites

As part of their itinerary in Egypt, the Ugandan delegation toured Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital. The delegation visited specialized facilities including the Information Technology Institute, the National Telecommunications Institute, and the Egypt University of Informatics, alongside a stop at a Digital Egypt Innovation Hub to observe local technology support programs.

The visiting officials also explored the private sector part in advancing the information and communications technology industry and accelerating digital innovation.
