The spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, Ayman Hamza, announced that “7 pm on Saturday is the last time the electricity will be cut off, and there will be no load shedding until the end of the summer.”

According to the Al-Masry Al-Youm website, Hamza explained that “this achievement came as a result of great coordination and interest in fulfilling the promises made, and that before the end of this year, the load shedding will end completely.”

Hamza pointed out, “There are ongoing efforts between the Ministries of Electricity and Petroleum under the supervision of the Prime Minister to achieve this goal,” noting that “the programmed schedules for reducing loads have ended.”

He added, “Despite this, malfunctions may occur or some areas may need maintenance, and he hoped that would not happen,” explaining that “there is a hotline (121) and a page for the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company that receives complaints, in addition to the website and the electronic platform for smart electricity services, as well as the numbers designated for distribution companies.”

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said earlier, “The Cabinet discussed a number of important files, including the load shedding crisis, announcing the suspension of the load shedding plan during the summer.”

He added: “We import large quantities of fuel shipments to implement the load shedding plan, and a plan has been developed for next summer 2025, in which we target 3 to 4 gigawatts, and the introduction of new and renewable energy.”
