Egypt revealed that “there are preparations to produce a new military armored vehicle to operate within the ranks of the Egyptian army, called “The Rock,” which is characterized by its high maneuverability and providing combat capabilities with movement in the narrowest spaces.”
Major General Dr. Harb Amr Abdel Aziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Qader Factory” for Advanced Industries, said, “The mission of the factories and units of the Arab Organization for Industrialization is to meet the needs of the armed forces and the civil police, and to work on supporting comprehensive development, by exploiting surplus production capacities, and working on implementing community initiatives for various societal groups in the country.”
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Qader Factory” for Advanced Industries confirmed that “the new armored vehicle, which has been named “Al-Sakhra”, is characterized by having a “chassis” that can withstand high efficiency, and has a maximum speed of up to 160 km/hour, and its maximum speed can be adjusted according to the needs of the forces working on it, whether the speed is 100 km/hour or more.”
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qader Advanced Industries Factory added, “The ‘Sakhra’ armoured vehicle is used as a main supporter in securing the borders in various strategic directions, and is used within the Rapid Intervention Forces of the Law Enforcement Forces, in order to confront any emerging security challenges.”
According to Egyptian Days websiteOfficials of the Qader Advanced Industries Factory said, “The design of the new armored vehicle, “Al-Sakhra,” was done by Egyptian minds and hands, as it is characterized by providing internal space for the forces in it, and ensuring freedom of movement, compared to previous generations of armored vehicles. The new armored vehicle, “Al-Sakhra,” which is used to maintain security in desert and remote areas, accommodates 8 individuals, including a driver, a mission commander, and 6 individuals inside the armored vehicle. The seats installed inside the new Egyptian armored vehicle differ from previous generations of armored vehicles.”
Engineer Sayed Dramli, Head of Production Sector at Qader Advanced Industries Factory, added, “The new armored vehicle, “Al-Sakhra,” is characterized by the presence of “tactical chairs,” which provide more comfort for the forces, in addition to connecting them to the body of the armored vehicle, with technologies that reduce the impact of driving in rugged areas on the forces inside the new armored vehicle. It also has a “five-point belt” to ensure the safety of the forces, during movement in mountainous and rugged areas.”
“Dramli” pointed out that “the Arab Organization for Industrialization provided the new Egyptian armored vehicle with two air conditioning systems inside it, one of which works by connecting it to the armored vehicle’s engine to operate while moving, and the other is separate from the engine to operate when the vehicle stops.”
“Dramli” confirmed that “the new armored vehicle will operate in desert and rugged areas, and may operate at very high temperatures, which will make these systems support the forces’ ability to work and maintain Egyptian national security with the highest effectiveness and efficiency, adding that Egypt has begun working on marketing the armored vehicle abroad, and has already received requests from Gulf and North African countries to export it to them.”
