Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry affirmed his country’s full support for the Libyan-Libyan solution path in accordance with the terms of reference of the Skhirat Agreement, and its rejection of any dictates imposed on the Libyans and ignores the role of institutions in the country.
Speaking before the 159th session of the Arab League Council meeting at the level of foreign ministers on Wednesday, Shoukry expressed Cairo’s hope that the efforts of the House of Representatives and the state will continue to finalize electoral laws and ensure their approval by the House of Representatives to hold elections.
The Egyptian minister called on all Libyan parties to respect these fundamental foundations and rules, stressing the need for all foreign forces, fighters and mercenaries to leave Libya within a specified period, and to support the mission of the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee with the aim of ensuring the sovereignty and stability of Libya.
He also called for the convergence of Arab positions and the development of common visions for collective action in various files, whether international or those related to regional and Arab issues.
