AGI – The Egyptian Nuclear Power Plant Authority has completed the presentation of the documents necessary to obtain permission to start construction first nuclear power plant in Egypt, in El-Dabaa, Marsa Matrouh. This was announced by Hisham Hegazy, head of the nuclear fuel sector of the Authority, speaking during a round table on the role of nuclear energy in achieving sustainable development, organized by the Russian company Rosatom in coordination with the Authority for nuclear power plants.

In his speech, reported by the Egyptian media, Hegazy added that Egypt has an ambitious plan for expand nuclear power projects to generate electricity. The El-Dabaa site is located in the immediate vicinity of the rail, road and transmission interconnections.
