The 2022 World Wrestling Championships ended on September 18 in Belgrade with the victory of the United States, in the number of medals (15 including 7 gold). Egypt, 20th in the nations ranking, won the only African podium of this event with the silver of Samar Amer in the -76 kg category. The Egyptian won bronze at the 2021 Worlds.
