The president of the STJD (Superior Court of Sports Justice), Otávio Noronha, determined the preventive suspension, for 30 days, of eight players investigated within the framework of the Maximum Penalty Operation, of the Public Ministry of Goiás, which investigates the manipulation of results in Brazilian soccer and sports betting.

The decision of the president of the STJD was published by the ge.globo website and confirmed by Flook, y responds to the request filed on Monday (16) by the STJD Prosecutor’s Office.

The request for suspension affected the following players: Eduardo Bauermann (Santos), Moraes (Aparecidense, former Youth), Gabriel Tota (Juvenile), Paulo Miranda (Náutico, former Youth), Igor Cariús (Sport, former Cuiabá) , Matheus Gomes (former Sergipe), Fernando Neto (São Bernardo, former Operário-PR) and Kevin Lomónaco (Bragantino).

Six of them were denounced by the MP-GO. The Goiás Justice accepted the complaint for processing and accused them. Kevin Lomónaco and Moraes reached a collaboration agreement with the MP and were not denounced in common justice, but they are still subject to sports sanctions.

According to the STJD attorney general, Ronaldo Piacente, although there has been no trial, the evidence presented by the Public Ministry is sufficient to justify the suspension.
