Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior announced that eight expatriates were arrested for prostitution in Kuwait. They were caught during nationwide checks to find foreigners doing illegal activities. The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on social media that all of them have been handed over to the relevant departments for further action.
Last week, nine people were arrested for engaging in prostitution in Kuwait. Eight men and one woman were arrested, the Ministry of Home Affairs said. Seven of them were arrested from Jalib Al Shuyukh area and one from Salmiya. All have been handed over to concerned authorities for further legal action. A few days ago, 25 expatriates were arrested in Kuwait in a similar case.
The inspections carried out by the Ministry of Interior are continuing with the aim of finding illegal expatriates in Kuwait. Hundreds of law breakers have been arrested by the security departments during the checks conducted in the past months. Those who live in the country without residence documents and with expired documents and work in violation of labor laws are mainly caught. And in various cases, those who are on the list of security departments are also arrested in the inspection campaigns.
Unexpected inspections were also carried out last week in areas such as Jalib Al Shuyukh and Mahbula under the leadership of senior officials. In some places, the home minister himself led the inspection. After closing the entry points, the officials were checking the identity documents of each one. Expatriates caught for violations of the law are immediately transferred to deportation centers and deported from there as soon as possible. Those caught in this way cannot come back to Kuwait. Also entry ban will be imposed to all GCC countries for a specified period.
