On the night of Sunday, information was received that a fire has broken out in a residential house in Talsi region. At the scene, the firemen found that the residential house was burning with an open flame in a full area of 130 square meters and its roof had partially collapsed.
During the extinguishing work, two dead people were found in the building. Firefighters rescued a person from the burning building, another person had evacuated from the building on his own.
On Sunday morning, the rescuers went to the Limbaži region, where a firewood shed, firewood and fire were burning. Before the rescuers arrived, a person got out of the burning barn, who was already dead when the firefighters arrived.
On Sunday evening, VUGD received a call to Ventspils region, where a two-story residential house with an area of 250 square meters was on fire. A person died in the fire.
On Sunday evening, firefighters received a call to Riga, where a 40-square-meter apartment was on fire on the first floor of a one-story residential building. While searching the apartment, firefighters found a deceased person.
On Sunday morning, VUGD received a call to Zemes Street in Riga, where a washing machine and household items were on fire in the first floor apartment of a six-story residential building. Ten people evacuated from the building before the arrival of VUGD, while firefighters saved two people with the help of rescue masks, who were handed over to medics.
Also, on Sunday, a call was received to Dubultu street in Riga, where a room and household goods were on fire in an apartment on the fourth floor of a five-story residential building. Firefighters rescued a person who was injured in the accident from the apartment.
On Sunday evening, a call was received to Jātnieku street in Daugavpils, where food was burnt on the stove in the apartment on the second floor of a multi-storey residential building. There was a person in the smoky apartment who was injured and was rescued by the firemen and handed over to medics. Before the arrival of VUGD, five people evacuated from the house.
On Saturday, a deceased person was found and recovered from a pond in Nīkrāce parish of Kuldīga district, who was handed over to the State Police officers. On Sunday, two dead people were recovered from water bodies in Latgale – Rēzekne district in Kaunata parish and Ludza district in Zvirgzdene parish.
On Sunday, however, VUGD received a call to Jūrkalnes parish of Ventspils region, where a person with a SUP board was in the sea 100 meters from the shore and was not rescued. Rescuers saved the person and brought him to the shore.
