Eknath Shinde From Auto Rickshaw Driver to Maharashtra Cheif Minister Who Actually Shiv Sena Leader is | Eknath Shinde: Chief Minister of ‘Great’ Politics from Auto Worker; Eknath Shinde ousts Thackeray

by time news

With an unexpected climax twist, the curtain is falling on the political crisis in Maharashtra. When the most loyal leader of the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the Shiv Sena party raised the voice of dissent with more than 30 MLAs from Surat in Gujarat and later from Assam, the question arose across the country as to who had more support in the Shiv Sena than the son of Bal Thackeray, the powerful leader of Mumbai. Yes it is Eknath Shinde.

Thackeray was the second Thane man to intimidate his family

The Shiv Sena in Thane district is now Eknath Shinde. Shinde became the undisputed leader of the Thane district after political guru Anand Dige. It was this dig that Bal Thackeray feared most within his party. Shinde, who had worked as a regular Maratha party worker, distributor and auto worker in liquor stores, was promoted to the post of Shiv Sena chief. It was this auto worker who later led the orphaned Maratha party in Thane after Dige’s accidental death in 2001. Today, it is safe to say that Shinde is in control of the country.

From auto worker to Shiv Sena

Eknath Shinde was born in Satara district of Maharashtra. Became an autorickshaw worker at the age of 16 to overcome poverty. Shinde has also worked as a liquor dealer in bars. When the Shiv Sena merged Hindutva with Marathaism in the 1980s, Shinde joined the party. Although he joined the Maratha party inspired by Bal Thackeray, it was Anand Dige who elevated Shinde to a leader in Thane.

Shinde Thane, a city councilor in the 1990s, was the local Shiv Sena leader. Shinde, who was about to leave the party and politics after a tragedy in his family in 2000, was re-elected by Dige. Shinde, who became a Shiv Sena leader in Thane after Dige’s death in 2001, first entered the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2004. Shinde later joined the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2009, 2014 and 2019 and was a member of the Cabinet. Meanwhile, after the death of Bal Thackeray, Shinde was growing up within the party more than his son Uddhav Thackeray. Shinde was in charge of managing and delivering many important matters, including funding for the Shiv Sena.

That tragedy that prepared Shinde to end politics

Shinde lost her two youngest children in a boat accident in 2000. Shinde witnessed the death of his 11 – year – old son Dipesh and seven – year – old Subhada in an accident in Satara. Shinde’s eldest son at the time, Srikanth Shinde, now a Lok Sabha MP, was only 14 years old.

Shinde decided to end his political career, saddened by the tragedy that befell his family that day. It was Anand Dige who strengthened Shinde and gave him all the guidance he needed to stay in politics.

What made Shinde angry?

Shinde, 58, was the Minister of Public Works in the 2014 NDA cabinet. When the Maratha Party Congress and the NCP split from the BJP in 2019 and formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, Shinde was nominated for the post of Chief Minister. But Pawar and Sonia denied it and handed over the chief ministership to Uddhav Thackeray. Thackeray was released by the Urban Development Department to comfort Shinde. This department is usually managed by the Chief Minister.

Shinde was given the important portfolio but the leader from Thane was upset over the administration. Uddhav and his son Aditya Thackeray’s attempts to encroach on Shinde’s department have angered the Shiv Sena leader. Many important activities in the department were carried out without Shinde’s knowledge. This made Shinde angry. This was followed by Shinde’s revolt, which included more than 30 MLAs. From there, Shinde overthrew Uddhav Thackeray and became the chief minister in the opposition BJP cabinet.
