WASHINGTON: Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador infamously called for emergency aid to save him. Mexican drug mafia boss Waquin Guzmán aka ‘El Chapo’ (65).

El Chapo, the founder of the drug mafia group Sinaloa Cartel and accused of several criminal cases including murder, money laundering and drug trafficking, is currently serving a life sentence in a federal prison in Colorado, USA. His lawyer Jose Refugio Rodríguez says El Chapo is being subjected to mental torture in prison.

Rodriguez, who is based in Mexico, says El Chapo has not seen the light of day in the last six years in US custody. A message asking for help was sent to the Mexican president through El Chapo’s lawyers and family.

El Chapo is only released three times a week to a small, sun-drenched area where El Chapo is allowed far fewer visitors and phone calls than other inmates. Rodriguez Accused.

During an interview, Rodriguez stated that the lack of sunlight affects El Chapo’s health and that he suffers from severe mental torture. El Chapo wants Obrador to examine the procedural lapses made by the previous government when he was extradited to the United States in 2017.

At the same time, the Mexican Embassy in the United States confirmed that Rodriguez forwarded the e-mail to them for El Chapo. The embassy said it had received the email on January 10, but did not specify the content of the email. At the same time, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said there would be no government intervention in favor of El Chapo.

El Chapo previously escaped from maximum security prisons in Mexico in 2001 and 2015. In 2015, El Chapo escaped from prison through an underground tunnel built by his gang into the cell. The watch with GPS system was delivered to El Chapo inside the prison and he found the location of the cell from outside and built the tunnel to the prison. But El Chapo was recaptured in 2016 and extradited to the US in 2017.

El Chapo’s son Ovidio Guzman (32) was recently arrested by the Mexican police. He was transferred to a maximum security prison for leading a drug gang in his father’s footsteps. Ovidio controlled a section of El Chapo’s Sinaloa Cartel, one of the world’s largest drug cartels. He is also believed to be involved in several murders. The US is in the process of getting Ovidio out.
