This edition is marked by the participation of 42 Sorbas (Tbourida Troops) and more than 600 riders, coming from different municipalities in the province of El Jadida and elsewhere, notably from Casablanca, El Youssoufia, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid and Marrakech .
The president of the Amghar Association for Cultural Affairs in Moulay Abdellah stressed, in a statement to MAP, that the opening ceremony was attended by a large audience, noting that the association organizing the festival imposed conditions Strict participation rules, including a minimum of 15 horses per Sorba.
This cultural event sees the participation of 42 Sorbas representing all regions of the province of El Jadida and other cities, added the president, specifying that the organizing committee welcomed all Sorbas wishing to participate in this edition. In a similar statement, the president of the Provincial Union of Art of Tbourida in El Jadida, Saïd Ghait indicated that this edition succeeded in bringing together the largest number of riders, stressing that the organizing committee planned important rewards for two Sorbas who participated in the national competition in Dar Essalam for the year 2024.
“A tribute will also be paid to one of the pioneers of this art in the commune of Moulay Abdellah, Mohamed Abdoul,” he said, inviting the general public and residents of the rural commune of Moulay Abdellah to visit the festival, promising an entertaining experience.
In this context, Mehdi Moujib, “Allam” of the sorba of the city of El Jadida, stressed that he is used to participating in the editions of the spring festival since its beginnings, being one of its founders, confirming having participated in numerous national Tbourida festivals with a Sorba composed of 17 horses. The 13th edition of the Tbourida spring festival will continue until next Sunday, as a prelude to the annual Moussem of Moulay Abdellah Amghar, considered the largest Moussem in Africa.
It should be noted that this edition began with the census of horses and the distribution of gunpowder by the Amghar Association for Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the Federation of Associations of Moulay Abdellah and the Provincial Union of Art from Tbourida to El Jadida, with the support of the Municipal Council of Moulay Abdellah.
