“The census teams in El Jadida are divided into 897 census districts and 270 control zones,” said the official, noting that some 1,304 agents, including 985 investigators, 292 controllers and 27 supervisors, are mobilized to contribute to the success of the operation at the provincial level under the supervision of the Regional Directorate of the HCP. She added that nearly 1,314 tablets and 227 vehicles were made available to these agents.

On August 30 and 31, she recalled, the teams in charge of the census carried out tours in the survey areas assigned to them, an approach that allowed the investigators to identify the delimitation of their census areas and its conformity with the cartographic work carried out.

The provincial director stressed that the active participation of households is crucial to obtain reliable and complete data, which will serve as a basis for planning the development of the province and the region for the years to come.

Equipped with a location map and a route plan to carry out their mission, these agents collect general information mainly related to citizens’ access to basic services, including schooling, health care, social security, drinking water and electricity, said, for his part, Hafid Abdelouahad, controller, in a similar statement.

The use of digital means for data collection, he continued, constitutes an innovative approach, because it allows to provide a real image of the population and the habitat, to preserve the data and to communicate them in real time.

Approached by MAP, citizens expressed their satisfaction with the conduct of the operation, stressing that participation in the general census is a national duty and an effective contribution to the efforts made in terms of the country’s development.

The RGPH 2024 is based on two questionnaires to collect data from households. The first includes questions related to demographic structures and rare phenomena such as international migration and mortality, while the second concerns questions on new topics including social protection, the use of information and communication technologies and the environment.

The RGPH allows us to know the demographic, social and economic characteristics of the entire population, including specific population groups such as nomads and homeless people.
