The Vice Minister of Transportation (VMT), Nelson Reyes, stated that August ended with a reduction in the number of people who died in traffic accidents, being a considerable percentage of 25%.
“We are closing August with a 25% reduction in the number of deaths from road accidents,” reported the head of the VMT, Nelson Reyes, on Monday.
The official explained that the institution, together with the National Civil Police, have worked on objectives such as raising awareness among drivers about the importance of driving with their papers in order, both the license and the road registration card, for which vehicle controls have been established in which this specific point is verified.
“It is a significant reduction. Obviously, vehicle controls have been increased,” said the deputy minister, adding that in the last month there has been an 8% reduction in the number of motorcyclists who died in road accidents.
