El Salvador continues to demonstrate significant progress in public security in the country, ending Saturday, August 24, with no homicides recorded across the country.

The National Civil Police (PNC) confirmed the news through its official X account. The work carried out demonstrates the commitment and effort of the authorities to maintain peace and security in the communities.

According to new PNC records, there have been a total of 15 days without homicides during the month of August of this year.

Statistics show that this year alone, the total number of days without homicides is 171, of which August has accumulated 15 days with zero murders, these days are the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st, 22nd and 24th. These records mark a cumulative total of 689 days without homicides during President Nayib Bukele’s administration, of which 575 have been recorded during the state of exception.

These are achievements of security strategies such as the Territorial Control Plan, implemented since 2019, and the state of emergency, still in force in El Salvador. Both measures have allowed the capture of thousands of gang members who threatened the lives and peace of Salvadoran families.
