An elderly Cuban resident in the province of Villa Clara has been bedridden for three years without medical attention, according to a complaint posted on social networks.
This is Virginia Vergel López, a disabled woman who also has a tumor on her left side and, apparently, that is not enough to be treated by the so-called “medical power.”
“Grisel Cañizares (daughter of the patient) from Santa Clara, denounces the situation with her mother Virginia Vergel López, a disabled elderly woman who has been in bed for three years, without the required medical attention and even with a tumor on her left side,” says the Facebook post of the La Tijera profile.
The daughter of the elderly Cuban woman explained that she has gone several times to the “Marta Abreu” polyclinic in that region, but has not been able to obtain her mother’s medical certificate, which is necessary to request the treatment she urgently needs.
“Grisel denounces the bureaucracy that exists in the ‘Marta Abreu’ polyclinic in that city, where, due to the lack of a signature to issue her mother’s medical certificate, they have not been able to give her the treatment that she requires today,” adds the report.

Currently, Mrs. Virginia is in the Riviera district of that province, where she is waiting to receive that help that she has been waiting for for three years and that, despite the months passing, has not yet arrived.
While the dictatorship mentions words like “solidarity”, “continuity” and “love”, over and over again, the people of the island are increasingly immersed in misery and indolence, since cases like that of this elderly Cuban woman, unfortunately, They are common in every corner of the country.
